Every school, hence, is a 'Miniature India' in itself and tries to inculcate in its students feelings of patriotism, brotherhood and national integration.

The genesis of KV :

Started in the year 1995 as a single section civil sector school sponsored by the state Govt of Orissa . Began with only Primary classes from I to V in a Temporary accommodation of NAC Guest house building . Now from 2004 Vidyalaya is functioning in the permanent campus at Gandhi Marg Angul.

The present permanent building with its campus is a full fledged one with permanent building of 'AO' type which is shortly going to be upgraded to 'A' type the construction works for additional class room , Labs and staff Qtrs are going on in full swing.

Important milestones of growth :

The Vidyalaya sent out its first batch of students for CBSE’s AISS(X) Exam. in 2001. Last year the results of both AISSE and AISSCE 2009 broak all the record of his history by achieving 100% result in both class - X and XII and PI in many subjects where above the PI  as fixed at regional level . Our students are also doing well in Sports and Games both at regional and national level . 

Gradual year wise expansion in classes and sections leading to present status :

1995-96 : classes I to V ; 

1996-97 : Class VI added ;

2000-2001:  first  batch of Class X students  took their CBSE AISSExam.; 

2005-06 :first  batch of Class XII SC. students  took their CBSE AISSC Exam.;  

(from 2010 session all the classes from I to IX will be having double section.)

Current strength of Vidyalaya as on 31.07.11 is 890

Details of previous and new campus :   
   
Previous campus : in NAC Guest house Angul ;  poor infrastructure facilities ; congested class rooms , no labs , inadequate toilets , no play grounds of our own                                                              

New Campus: 8.86 Acres- large campus -beautiful  modern building, spacious class rooms with adequate and suitable furniture and fittings, Science and computer labs ,adequate toilet facility, safe drinking water, temporary  play fields (cricket, basket ball, volley ball ) cycle-sheds.  An Extension work for the proposed supplementary building, with the main building to increase the number of classrooms, labs etc.
